When Everything Shakes, Only One Thing Holds

Something is shifting. Everywhere.

Political lines that keep getting redrawn. Institutions that used to feel permanent are crumbling in real time. AI is replacing jobs, writing articles, generating images, building code. Entire industries are being restructured while most people are still arguing about whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.

Things that were hidden for decades are being exposed. Leaders. Systems. Agendas.

It's a lot.

And if you're a thoughtful person (which I'm guessing you are, because you're reading this), it can feel overwhelming. (I know it is for me)

Here's what I want to say to you today: the noise is not your assignment.

The Shaking Is Biblical

I mentioned this a couple weeks ago, but it's worth repeating.

Hebrews 12:26-27 says God shakes things so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

That means the shaking is purposeful. It's not random chaos. It's divine exposure.

God is revealing what's real and what's not. What's built on Him and what's built on sand. What was always true and what was held together by reputation, money, or momentum.

That's uncomfortable. Especially if you've built your sense of security on things that are being shaken.

But for the person who knows who they are, who understands their design and their assignment, the shaking is actually clarifying.

When the fake stuff falls, the real stuff stands out.

The Trap of Reactivity

Here's what I see happening to a lot of believers right now.

They're reacting. To everything.

Every headline. Every political shift. Every AI announcement. Every scandal. Every prophetic word on social media. Every hot take.

React. React. React.

When things feel unstable, the natural response is to grab onto something, anything, and hold on.

But reactivity is not the same as responsiveness.

Reactivity comes from fear. It's impulsive. It's emotional. It jumps from thing to thing without any real strategy.

Responsiveness comes from identity. It's grounded. It evaluates. It asks, "What does this mean for my assignment?" and moves accordingly.

Proverbs 4:25-27 says, "Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left."

That's not a passive verse. That's a strategy verse. Know your lane. Stay in it. Don't get pulled off course by every distraction.

Your design is your lane.

AI Is Not Your Enemy (But It's Not Your Savior Either)

Let me say something about AI specifically, because I know it's on a lot of people's minds.

AI is a tool. A powerful one. It's going to change how we work, communicate, create, and build. That's already happening.

But AI cannot replace your design.

It can write an email. It can't carry a calling. It can generate content. It can't generate conviction. It can process data faster than any human alive. But it can't sit across the table from someone who's broken and say, "I see you. And God made you for more than this."

The people who will struggle most in an AI-saturated world are the people who were already living disconnected from their design. They were doing tasks that didn't require their unique wiring. And now a machine can do those tasks faster and cheaper.

The people who will thrive are the people who know what only THEY can do. The irreplaceable thing. The God-designed thing.

That's not a skill set. It's a design.

And no algorithm can replicate it.

What God Is Actually Doing

I believe we're living in a season where God is forcing a question.

Not forcing it with punishment. Forcing it with exposure.

The question is: Do you know who you are?

Not your title. Not your role. Not your political party or your church affiliation or your social media following.

Do you know who GOD made you to be?

Because when everything else gets stripped away, when the job changes, when the economy shifts, when the institution you trusted fails, when the leader you followed disappoints, when the system you relied on breaks...

The only thing left standing is your identity in Him and the design He built into you.

2 Timothy 2:19 says, "Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: 'The Lord knows those who are his.'"

God's foundation doesn't shake. And your design, the one He built before the foundations of the earth, doesn't shake either.

Everything else might. But that doesn't.

What I Want You to Do

Stop scrolling. (At least for a couple days)

Stop reacting to every headline.

And ask yourself this: Do I actually know how God wired me? Do I understand my design well enough to navigate what's coming with clarity instead of anxiety?

If the answer is yes, good. Walk it out. The world needs you operating from that place.

If the answer is "not really" or "I used to but I've lost sight of it" or "I've never actually figured that out"...

Then this is the season. This is the moment.

Not next year. Not when things calm down. (They're not going to calm down.)
