How to Stop Floating in “Spiritual Energy” and Actually Walk in Truth

The Moment You Realize You’re Spiritually Lost
It starts as harmless curiosity.
A book on “ancient wisdom.” A podcast about “universal energy.” A quote from some Eastern guru that just resonates.
Then, before you even realize it, something shifts.
You start questioning basic Christian beliefs, but not because you actually studied them—just because some Instagram post made you feel like they were “limiting.”
You begin to redefine who Jesus is. Maybe He wasn’t really God in the flesh. Maybe He was just an “ascended master.” Maybe Christianity isn’t the truth, just a truth.
And then one day, it hits you.
You’re sitting there with your crystals, burning sage, and meditating on your “higher self” when you realize:
“I don’t even know what I believe anymore.”
You didn’t mean to walk away from Jesus. But somewhere along the way, you replaced the gospel with “spiritual vibes.”
How does this happen? More importantly—how do you come back?

Can You Engage with Other Cultures Without Losing Biblical Truth?
Let’s get something straight:
You CAN learn from global spirituality.
You CAN appreciate different cultural perspectives.
You CAN be spiritually curious.
What you CAN’T do is assume that all spiritual wisdom is equally true.
Because truth isn’t fluid. It’s not whatever resonates with you.
Truth is a person. His name is Jesus.
So how do you engage with global spirituality without getting lost in the fog of Mystic Idealization Bias?
Here’s how.

So how do you engage with global spirituality without getting lost in the fog of Mystic Idealization Bias?
Here’s how.
Step 1: Awareness – Recognizing Mystic Idealization Bias
The first step is admitting you’ve been affected by it.
Ask yourself:
Do I instinctively trust foreign spirituality over Christianity?
Do I find Christian doctrine “limiting” but Eastern or mystical teachings “expansive”?
Have I started believing that Jesus was just one of many enlightened teachers?
Do I see biblical faith as “too basic” and crave something “deeper” elsewhere?
If you answered yes to any of those, Mystic Idealization Bias has already shaped your thinking.
And that’s okay. Recognizing it is the first step to breaking free.

Step 2: Biblical Discernment – Testing Everything Against Scripture
Not all wisdom is God’s wisdom.
The Bible is crystal clear about testing ideas, no matter how “deep” they sound:
Colossians 2:8 – “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy…”
1 John 4:1 – “Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.”
2 Corinthians 11:14 – “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”
Here’s how to apply discernment in real life:
? Before adopting a spiritual idea, ask:
Does this align with God’s Word? Or does it contradict what Jesus taught?
Where does this belief actually come from? Is it rooted in biblical truth, or is it a repackaged spiritual counterfeit?
Does this focus on Christ, or does it make ME the center of the universe?
Many “enlightened” spiritual teachings sound good but lead to deception. This is why discernment is critical.

Step 3: Rediscovering Depth in Christianity
Some Christians fall into Mystic Idealization Bias because they think Christianity lacks depth.
That’s because they’ve been fed watered-down, Westernized faith instead of the real thing.
Let’s be clear:
Christianity is mystical.
Christianity is supernatural.
Christianity does involve deep spiritual encounters.
But instead of chasing “energies” and “higher consciousness,” we experience the actual presence of God.
? Here’s where the REAL depth is found:
Prayer & Fasting – Not just asking for things, but learning to hear God’s voice.
Holy Spirit Encounters – The real spiritual power, not just “vibes.”
Scripture as Revelation – The Bible isn’t just words; it’s spirit and life.
Worship as Warfare – Ever felt the power shift in the room during worship? That’s not just emotion—that’s the presence of God.
You don’t need to leave Christianity to go deeper. You just need to go deeper into Christianity.
That’s because they’ve been fed watered-down, Westernized faith instead of the real thing.

Step 4: Engaging Without Losing Ground
Engaging with global spirituality isn’t wrong. Losing yourself in it is.
Here’s the right approach:
Learn, but filter.
Study philosophy, history, and culture—but test everything against Scripture.
Appreciate, but don’t absorb.
Respect other traditions, but don’t blur them with biblical truth.
Engage, but stay rooted.
Be curious, but never let go of Christ as the foundation.

Final Challenge: What’s Your Next Step?
Maybe this post hit you hard. Maybe you’re realizing you’ve drifted more than you thought.
So here’s the question:
➡️ What are you going to do about it?
Are you going to keep floating in “spiritual vibes,” or are you going to anchor yourself in truth?

Because this matters. And what you believe shapes your eternity.
